Raina Chao received a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.A. in Art History from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007 and her M.A. in Art History and Advanced Certificate in Art Conservation from the Conservation Center at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University in 2011. She has interned at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, the Freer and Sackler Galleries in Washington, DC, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She was the 2011-2012 Graduate Intern in Decorative Arts and Sculpture Conservation at the J. Paul Getty Museum and the 2012-2015 Andrew W. Mellon fellow in Objects Conservation at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Currently she is the Assistant Objects Conservator at the Saint Louis Art Museum.
